Position Summary
The Library Technician II provides advanced technical and public service support within the Bracebridge Library, with a focus on IT infrastructure, Makerspace technologies, and the Recording Studio. This role builds on the core responsibilities of the Library Technician I by expanding into direct IT support functions, including troubleshooting, systems support, and coordination with external Managed Service Providers (MSPs) under the direction of the Library Innovation & Technical Services Manager.
The position ensures the smooth operation of specialized technologies, supports the daily operation and maintenance of computers, networks, and AV equipment, and contributes to the development of innovative programming and services. The Library Technician II provides frontline support to both patrons and staff, helping the community connect with emerging technologies in a welcoming and accessible way.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week. Shift work, including evenings and weekends, will be required. January 2026 start date *pending budget approval*
Compensation: $27.68-$32.37 per hour, commensurate with education & experience. Comprehensive benefits plan upon successful completion of probation.
Occupational Health and Safety awareness training from the Ministry of Labour and WHMIS training will be required. A current criminal record check, with vulnerable sector clearance, will also be required for the successful candidate.
